In Like a Slingshot

It’s been a minute, but I’m back, and I have a good one this time. I’ve just received a Polaris Slingshot to try out for two weeks and review. I’ll be doing a full write-up for ADVRider (and maybe elsewhere?) I’ll also share some quick takes here as I go along.

I intend to start posting here a lot more than I have been. I just passed the one-year mark of arriving in Arkansas, so I haven’t had any travel to write about at Smokey Da Van. I’m keeping that site up, but it’s pretty dormant these days, and I miss having a place to write about the adventures I do have, which mainly consist of local motorcycle trips these days and the occasional product review. I should really do a much better job of promoting my work as well, and people say I should have an email newsletter. Fortunately, that feature is built right into this WordPress site. All you have to do is subscribe.

I promise not to get too annoying about that. I’ll slip a link into each post, and I’m in the slow process of adding them to my previous posts, but I’m not going to shove it down your throat, either. Do what you want. I’m not your mother.

I’m looking forward to taking the Slingshot down all the best roads northwest Arkansas has to offer. So far, I’ve only taken it on a short drive home from the pickup location. I’ve driven a lot of cars and ridden a lot of motorcycles, but already, I can tell that the Slingshot is nothing like any of these. It’s its own unique thing. I’ll just have to drive it more to figure it out.
