The Motorcycle Camp Cookbook

I’ve been a huge fan of As the Magpie Flies on YouTube for many years. Amanda Zito’s positive attitude and constant encouragement to “Get out and do the thing” was part of what inspired me to leave the pavement and explore the dirt road less traveled in my own motorcycle adventures. I’ve been fortunate enough to become friends with her in real life over the years, which is how I became involved with her latest project, The Motorcycle Camp Cookbook.

Originally, Amanda sent me an advance reader copy to review for ADVRider, which I gladly did. I also offered her my editing services, which she gladly took me up on. I’m quite pleased with the result. Amanda is already a good writer, and I was able to polish it up even more to look like gleaming chrome on a Harley-Davidson. Her goal was to raise money to help her and her brother, Gary (a fellow V-Strom 650 rider like me), to go to Alaska next year. Her Indiegogo campaign was successful beyond her wildest dreams, raising more than $30,000 to fund the entire trip! I’m thrilled to have helped Amanda follow her dreams, and look forward to the amazing videos that are sure to come out of an epic Alaska adventure.
